Apple Updates 30″ Cinema Display

It appears that Apple has bumped up the specs on their 30″ cinema display to match Dell’s 3007WFP, their comparable 30″ model.
Those specs are; 400 cd/m2 brightness and a 700:1 contrast ratio, as opposed to the former 270 cd/m2 and 400:1 specs. The price remains the same, at the ever-astronomical $2500, which is pretty damn [...]

DIY Bottle Cap Tripod

It seems the do-it-yourself bottle cap tripod is the talk of the internet today. Jake Ludington of Jake Ludington’s MediaBlab, has created a step-by-step instruction set for creating a digital camera tripod from a Pepsi bottle. He got the idea from the Japanese retail version of the same product.

XP on Intel iMac contest officially won.

It is final, the judges have confirmed the winning submitter has a working solution and has XP runnong on his iMac 17″. The winner has won the final cash prize of $13,854 (before taxes?). iMac Successfully Booting Windows XP

Mac OS X Hack Challenge Suspended

Dave Schroeder, a senior systems engineer at the University of Wisconsin, launched his contest on Monday. The objective is to hack into his Mac Mini and alter the website hosted on it. The Mac Mini is running Mac OS X 10.4.5 fully patched with SSH and HTTP open to the public.
