April 27, 2009 at 10:04 amI’m trying to repair an old iPod dock I have, and I came across this website, what i want to know is if it’s safe to conect any of the leads for the mount. (because due to a shotty soldering job some of the leads have become entagled and they’re proving dificult to take apart, i’m going to try one more time after i finish the special tool) Also whitch way do you read the leads? (assume the iPod is pluged in and facing you)

April 27, 2009 at 11:23 amYou do not want any of the leads/solder joints touching each other as you can cause the cable/dock to be irresponsive. If you disassemble the original apple-ipod-dock-connector-cable and look at the connector itself, on the back side, where it is soldered, you can see the number 1 and 30 (e.g. pin 1 and 30).
I hope that helps
