Google’s App Engine & Web Services

April 8th, 2008 by George Burnett

Google isn’t just talking about hosting applications in the cloud any more. Last night they launched Google App Engine which is an ambitious new project that offers a full-stack, hosted, automatically scalable web application platform. It consists of Python application servers, BigTable database access (anticipated here and here) and GFS data store services.

TechCrunch has a full analysis of Google’s new web-app services as well as live feed from the Google’s Camp Fire.
