1GB iPod Nano Released

In what seems to be a possible attempt to eventually replace the iPod Shuffle, Apple has released the 1GB iPod nano today priced at $149 in both white and black. This in turn has brought the price of the iPod Shuffle down to $69 for the 512 MB & $99 for the 1 GB versions.

Mac Mini Carputer + iTrip

The owner of this Mazda Protege sedan decided that he needed to get some MP3 playback in their vehicle, stat! Instead of purchasing your run-of-the-mill MP3 playing headunit they decided to take their Mac Mini and mod an iTrip FM transmitter directly to the Mini.

$25,000 for DIRECTV DVR Hack

Holy crap. I’ve seen DVR-related contests before, but never one like this. The new DirecTV DVR (their first without TiVo software running) seems to be locked down, and Weaknees, the company known for TiVo upgrades is willing to pay up to $25,000 for a hard drive upgrade solution [via BoingBoing].
